Art Cooperative Granat in Turnov is cooperative of possesors, who mass and also grow up stone cutters, goldsmiths and silversmiths from Turnov and its environs. With its production programme, design and high sense in details and quality, banks on several centuries of tradition of this arts-craft in Bohemia and specially in Turnov region, which is known as "Czech Paradise".
The co-operative Granát is the only operator of all legal mining of Bohemian garnets in the Czech territory. In the Czech Republic, there are only two protected areas approved by the state, where Bohemian garnets can be extracted. Nowadays, both deposits are subjected to 100 % usage by DUV Granát.
As the Bohemian garnets are so famous, they are imitated and offered in the Czech market and elsewhere, even with the protected mark "Bohemian garnet". Therefore, if you truly want to have an original jewel made by Czech jewellers, buy them with a manufacturer‘s certificate or from a certified seller only.
